Doug Parks
Associate Minister
Doug Parks is a native of Gallatin, TN. He served as Youth Minister of the Cottontown (TN) congregation from 1975 to 1979. After graduating at David Lipscomb in 1979, Doug and his family moved to Bowling Green, KY to teach at Potter Christian School. In July 1984, he moved back to Sumner County to work as an Associate Minister at the New Deal Congregation. In January of 1985 he became the pulpit minister and remained there until March 2009.
Doug and his wife, Melanie, placed membership with Fountain Head in 2009 and was hired to be part-time Associate Minister in May 2011. His duties include: filling the pulpit when needed, preaching on the local radio program (WQKR in Portland), and organizing brethren from Fountain Head and other congregations to hold services at Senior Living Homes in the Portland area. Doug also does fill in work for area congregations. Beginning in 2012, he began filling the pulpit at the Buck Lodge congregation on Sunday evenings. Doug has been the coordinator of the Sumner County Youth Singing from 1975-79 and 1993-2011.
Doug has a BA degree in music Education at David Lipscomb and an MA in music ed. at Western Kentucky University. He was the Chorus director at White House Middle School from 2002-2022. He retired from teaching in 2022.
Doug is married to Melanie Trammel. They have one son, Jason, who is married to Michelle Del Bosco. Doug and Melanie have two grandchildren—Isabelle & Griffin.

Derrick, Caitlyn, Nolan, and Renley
Derrick Perdue
Youth Minister
Derrick Perdue currently lives in Franklin Kentucky with his wife, Caitlyn and children Nolan and Renley. He is a Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Specialist for the Simpson County School District, where Caitlyn also works as a 3rd grade teacher. On top of working for the school system, Derrick has a passion for working with the youth group at Fountain Head. Derrick received his undergraduate degree from Freed-Hardeman University in Middle Grades Education and Youth Ministry. He also has a Masters degree from Freed-Hardeman University in School Counseling, an ED.S in School Leadership/Administration from Western Kentucky University, and a Doctorate in School Leadership from Freed-Hardeman University.
Derrick served as the youth minister at Fountain Head from 2011-2013 before he took the youth ministry position at the Juno Church of Christ where he served from 2013-2016. Derrick returned to work with the youth at Fountain Head in 2016. Derrick loves working with the youth at Fountain Head and strives each and every day to provide opportunities for the youth of the congregation to grow emotionally and spiritually. Derrick considers Fountain Head his home and believes the work of growing the hearts and minds of young people to be of utmost importance.
